Michael Jackson żyje i ma się dobrze?

Michael Jackson żyje i ma się dobrze?

Czy to możliwe, by Król Popu sfingował swoją śmierć?

As it turns out, I was right

The coroner has ruled Michael’s death a homicide.  Not really a surprise.  I’m not sure, however, what constitutes crossing the line between malpractice and homicide.  Sounds more like manslaughter to me, if anything.  Then again I’m not a piece of shit, oops I mean I’m not a lawyer.

According to the “experts” that consult for CNN, the drugs used that killed Jackson are for clinical use only.  Duh.  I guess that makes me an expert.  Or… it’s fucking common sense.

Cheers,

Rick

everything else can be dealt with.

(this post was typed out last night, but only posted today.)

It’s 11:12PM now, but let us just pretend that it is already 12am, 29th August. (:

Happy Birthday Michael Joesph Jackson.

I want to dedicate this whole post to the amazing Michael Jackson. Although you’re not here with us physically, you are still alive in our hearts, so it wouldn’t be wrong for me to wish you a very happy birthday. I’m sure heaven allows birthdays. I hope you are happy up there, moon-walking on the clouds.

You’re a truly beautiful beautiful person, and the world didn’t treat you the way you’re supposed to be treated, with respect and love, and for that we are all really and honestly sorry. I admit to be one of those people, and i regret it.

It’s funny, you loved peter pan, and right now that’s what they’re playing on television. I don’t know if it’s coincidence or not. (:

I love you, we love you, the world loves you. Live like a King, Peter Pan, in peace.

Pessoas o acusavam, defendiam-no, apontavam-no. E a dor aumentava: espiritual e física.

The King of Pop and Propofol Revisited

Michael Jackson

by James J. Galligan, Ph.D., Associate Chair,

Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

Regardless of the final legal outcomes, it is sad that Michael Jackson was killed by inappropriate use of sedative drugs.  The ruling that his death was a homicide is suggestive of negligence and perhaps poor understanding of how drugs work.

It seems that MJ was taking a number of different drugs to help with his sleeping problems.  His doctor was using lorazepam and midazolam in addition to propofol to help MJ sleep but he was finding that each drug alone or in combination was not producing the desired results.  Lorazepan and midazolam are both Valium like drugs that can be used as anti-anxiety and sedative drugs.  They can be taken in pill form so the safety factor in terms of an overdose is reasonably good.  It is difficult to overdose accidentally.  Propofol can only be administered intravenously, so the risk for an accidental overdose is much greater with this drug.

A pharmacology lesson comes from a discussion of how these drugs work on the brain to produce their sedative effect.  All of these drugs act at receptors for the neurotransmitter GABA. GABA, lorazepam, midazolam and propofol all act to turn off or inhibit neuronal activity.  When we are talking about neurons in the parts of the brain that are responsible for anxiety, this is good as that is where these drugs produce their sedative actions.  However, when the neurons that control breathing or the heart beat are affected that is where an overdose becomes an issue.

It looks like drug tolerance may have played a big role in what happened to MJ.  His physician was administering lorazepam, midazolam and propofol but finding that they were not working well.  This is because each drug acts at the same site and the brain adapts to the continued presence of the drug.  The drugs become less effective over time and more and more drug is required to get to the same therapeutic effect.  As higher and higher doses are given, an overdose becomes more and more likely.

A beneficial strategy would be to use a sedative drug or drugs that act through mechanisms that are different from those used by lorazepam, midazolam and propofol.  There would be no tolerance to the new drugs and lower and safer dose could be used.  Knowledge of this basic pharmacological principle might have reduced the overdose risk for the King of Pop.

São eles British Secret Projects: Jet Bombers Since 1949 e Soviet Secret Projects: Bombers Since 1945.

“I have always been fascinated by ‘what if’ scenarios. In aviation, this translates as aircraft that never got off the drawing board. So, when I bought Tony Buttler’s British Secret Projects: Bombers Since 1949 and Soviet Secret Projects: Bombers Since 1945, I was aiming at numerous descriptions of unbuilt projects.

“Was I in for a treat. Yes, these books bring lots of text and drawings about endless scores of aircraft that never got built. However, their greatest strength is where they describe the development of airplanes that did in fact get a first flight. In both books, Buttler outlines the evolution in defence thinking of the relevant country at Ministry level, its impact in the doctrine for strategic defence and the consequent requirements and specifications of combat aircraft that should fit said doctrine. Each book then goes to show the industry’s approach to the specifications, explaining each manufacturer’s technical solutions to the problems posed: wing shapes, engines to be adopted, undercarriages, weapon loads, crew, why and how they would or would not be adequate, etc. The reader gets to see how aircraft designers think and how diverse aircraft features affect in-flight behaviour, cost and effectiveness. Then the Author retells of the military’s view on each project and the reasons for their adoption or rejection, the changes in requirements and therefore in specifications, contemporary views about in-service limitations, engine concerns, development cost, time to service entry, upgrades and the like. The political implications are also described (cases in point: the tortuous road that led to TSR.2 and its sad demise, and the AFVG discussions between the UK and France before commitment to Tornado). As a result, each chapter follows the backstory of development of well-known types, from the point of inception to detail design, with a comparison to the competitors up to the point when each fell by the wayside. The reader gets to see the whole gamut of projects that were mused before final adoption (or cancellation, as applicable) of Canberra, the three V-bombers, Buccaneer, Shackleton, Gannet, Seamew, TSR.2, Harrier, Jaguar and Tornado.

“All of this in a text that is fluent and light to read while, at the same time, the books are generous in technical specs, line drawings, and pictures of wood models, mockups, wind-tunnel models and actual prototypes.

“I recommend Buttler’s books to a variety of readers: those keen on the evolution of strategic thinking behind the military aircraft industry, those that want background on the requirements, development and reasons behind features of aircraft effectively built, and those that want to know more about the aircraft that remained stuck on the drawing board. At any rate, a good, solid, information-laden read — page turners with plenty of eye candy to boot.”

Hasn't BET damaged Michael Jackson Enough?

Since the death of Michael Jackson, there have been many people trying to throw dirt on the name of the “king of pop.” Many were trying to do so before his death, but some media outlets have waited until after death to tarnish his name.

BET, either intentionally, or unintentionally, has been ruining the name of Michael Jackson. They have only done one thing, but that one thing has been enough. The 2009 BET Awards was a mockery of a man that did so much for the network. It was understandable that the BET Awards are usually a showcase for ignorance and would have been one this year, but Jackson’s death was unexpected.

Because of his untimely death, the awards ceremony was turned into a “celebration” of his life as his parents, children, and siblings were in attendance. The performers were informed of the changes in time to be ready for the show, but they still lacked the proper respect for an artist that paved the way for every person that was there.

Popular recording artist, T-Pain, still came to the show with his chain that read “BIG ASS CHAIN.” That is very disrespectful when you come to perform at a show that was dedicated to the life of another human being. Then, Lil Wayne and Drake came out to perform their hits. Wayne tried to clean his verses up for the show, but Drake continued to utter the lyrics, unedited. Common sense would tell you that it is now time to clean it up.

Add to that the fact that R&B legend, Eddie Levert felt the need to curse everytime he held the microphone, he was better off staying seated. It was a live performance, so everything that was said was heard. Even the host, Jamie Foxx was in on the coonery, he also felt the need to curse. Of course there was the Ving Rhames/Tyrese Baby Boy skit that went way too far.

As a network that hosts an award show on a yearly basis, BET has to set some standards, rules of conduct or something. It was their responsibility to at least do this if they were going to dedicate their award ceremony to the life of another human being. The show was entirely disrespectful and BET needs to leave the man alone.

For his upcoming 51st birthday, BET plans to do another tribute honoring the life of Michael Jackson. To BET, do us all a favor and leave Michael Jackson alone, focus on acquiring rights to “The Game.”

Lady Gaga Rocks Out With Her Cock Out, Chrissy & RiRi Had a History of Violence, MJ Not Getting Subway Stop, & More!!

So I’m looking at this photo of Lady Gaga performing at the V Festival on Sunday, & the only thing I see hanging is buttcheek, but you make the call.

Chrissy and Rihanna had a history of violence. Is anyone surprised about that??

The “Umbrella” singer allegedly slapped Brown in a heated argument three months prior to the February incident, according to Brown’s probation review released Tuesday.

In that previous fight, which occurred in Europe, Brown responded by pushing Rihanna into a wall, the documents say. The couple “were involved in a verbal dispute and [she] slapped [him].” Brown “responded by shoving her into a wall.”

A second fight occurred about three weeks prior to the Feb. 8 incident.

Brown and Rihanna “were visiting Barbados and were driving a Range Rover loaned to them,” according to the documents. “They had an argument inside the car. [Brown] exited and broke the front driver and passenger side windows of the car. No one was injured during the incident.”

The documents also reveal that in the Feb. 8 incident, which began after Brown allegedly received a text message from a previous lover, that Rihanna “said she became ‘enraged’ and slammed both of her fists against the dashboard,” which led to Brown pulling the Lamborghini over and trying to force her out, which escalated into a physical fight. [SOURCE]

That’s only counting what was reported. Who knows how many times these two attacked each other. The both of them need to be on probation if you ask me!! Chrissy was formally sentenced on Tuesday, & ordered not to contact Rihanna for five years. He’ll also be removing graffiti & washing cars during his 1,400 hours of community service. Fun!!

New York City will not be naming the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Brooklyn subway stop where Michael Jackson filmed the Bad video in 1987 after him. I can’t say I’m too mad @ that. Learning how to say Schermerhorn was enough, but having to say Hoyt-Schermerhorn-Jackson is too damn much!! [FN]

Christina Milian was out in NYC w/her mama & not her Dream a few days ago, arriving at her hotel & signing autographs.

Senator Ted Kennedy has passed away, & that really sucks. [GOV]

Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett & Kourtney Kardashian do a pregnant photoshoot for US Weekly. E! caught exclusive behind the scenes video footage. I don’t care, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t either. [E!]

I Want Your Defined Tip...

Today I went in to my first interview at a clothing store with confidence and optimism. I left self conscience and all my fragile hopes and dreams battered and bruised just like Chris Brown’s new girlfriend will be, coincidentially, I think that is synonymous with Rihanna.

Apparently stores like the one I applied to actually recruit people to work there. I just filled out an application. They all introduced themselves and said, “Well, I kind of have the job anyway, they approached me about modeling their clothes already.” So when the group interview commenced I sat next to, what I thought were adult woman girls. There spider long legs, and perfectly manicured acrylic nails that could cut the soul out of any average girl’s heart misguided me on that judgment. They were 17 and basically gift-wrapped a job at hollister.

More so than that, they had these perfect little decoration noses. They were just dead center in the middle of their face chillin like, “oh yeah, I’m a nose, whatever, it’s cool, I guess it’s a good gig, I keep the blackheads away and in turn I am admired by all those who seek to gaze upon my perfection…I’m guessing you are a coat rack of some sort?” My nose in turn said, “Well, if you must know, my nose is a distinguishing feature that makes me special…my mom told me.” But by the time my nose got a word in, the prissy nose had already lost interest in my average nose.

And yet…my nose kept salivating at her trophy nose. Aw, what lovely imagery…a salivating nose…it’s like I’m a poet. How can some people be born with these perfectly straight nose ridges and defined tips

(you perv, I know when you sat down and starting googling like a fool, that is not the ‘tip’ you meant…)

My groucho eyebrows and keebler elf nose were now oggling these apparent underage hotties and envied their facial harmony. And that is when I scratched hollister off my list of places to work. hit me up about my nose all you plastic surgeons doing nice things out of the kindness of your plastic hearts. My only fear with plastic surgery is the murder of the late MJ’s nose. I will keep my honker any day over that.

Death be not proud

The many ways a human being can die fall into four categories: natural causes, accident, suicide, and homicide. It would demand an Aristotelian effort to further exhaustively identify all the sub-categories under each. Natural causes? This is so general, while accurate, a label for its category that it defies further description and this is alright. The general is specific enough in any given instance; it has an innate meaning. It does not demand any further information although medical experts could provide it if called upon to do so.

The same applies to accident and suicide, although each raises the “How?” question in some form or other and this in turn can be specifically answered. Suicide’s “How?” also spills over into “Why?”

What about homicide? As a category it stands at the opposite pole from natural causes. Both the “How?” and “Why?” questions must be answered .

I mention this in the context of yesterday’s news that the Michael Jackson death has been found by the LA coroner to be a homicide.

Not all homicide is what the man in the street would call “murder.” In the Jackson case it is alleged that the attending physician,  Conrad Murray, administered a lethal dose of the anesthetic drug, propofol, and moreover that when it became clear Jackson was in distress delayed calling 911 for 82 minutes. If I were to enter your house and do this to you it would certainly smack of murder. In this case the administering of this and other drugs to treat Jackson’s insomnia was a normal practice. It was a pattern of behavior. People were used to it and Jackson, it is claimed, “demanded” it. Nevertheless, the facts are such, apparently, to meet the LA coroner’s definition of homicide.

In this context let me mention the situation in the Netherlands. I have heard it said that in that country under its state run health care system doctors can administer lethal doses of drugs to “bring about the death,” of patients (i.e. to kill them, commit homicide) under certain circumstances. This is a combination of two Greek words; thanatos death and eu good. One of the circumstances in the Netherlands is, I understand, the patient’s request or “demand.”

Is it conceivable that Dr. Murray will be able to follow something of this line of thinking? Rather than a homicide could it be argued that the Jackson death was an “accidental euthanasia?”

The clarity of the four categories with which this post opened is an illusion. This, of course, is true in nearly every instance. When I read the “cause of death” on my late mother’s death certificate I felt the need within to ask further questions: but how did she get that? Why was it not treated? Truth be told, she just got old and ran out of life.

The illusory nature of our apparently clarity should be kept in mind when we confront the vexing and upsetting ethical issues; euthanasia, assisted suicide, abortion, the bizarre accident.

How? Why? These questions rarely can be answered to anyone’s satisfaction.  Faith demands a life lived with this notion of inexplicability or at least of ineffability. Can we say any more than Job?

Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return; the Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. (Job 1:21)

Coroner: Michael Jackson's Death Ruled A Homicide

HOUSTON – The Los Angeles County coroner ruled Michael Jackson’s death a homicide, a law enforcement official told the Associated Press on Monday. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the findings have not been publicly released. A spokesperson for the coroner’s office told Access Hollywood that the office had no comment on the AP report.

Dateline NBC’s Josh Mankiewicz confirmed that Murray is the target of a manslaughter probe.

Meanwhile, a search warrant affidavit revealed that Jackson had lethal levels of the powerful anesthetic propofol in his system when he died in his rented Los Angeles mansion on June 25.

The document unsealed Monday allowed officials to raid the Houston offices and storage facility of Dr. Conrad Murray last month.

According to the warrant, Murray, Jackson’s personal physician, had been treating the singer for insomnia with the sedative for six weeks. According to the document, Murray said he had been trying to wean Jackson off the powerful sedative by using smaller doses in combination with the sedatives lorazepam and midazolam.

On the morning Jackson died, Murray said he tried to induce sleep without using propofol, starting first with valium at 1:30 a.m. When Jackson was still awake at 2 a.m., Murray injected Jackson with lorazepam, then injected him with midazolam at 3 a.m. Murray told police he administered several other drugs over the next few hours.

By 10:40 a.m., Jackson, still unable to sleep, urged Murray to give him propofol. Murray said in court documents that he administered 25 milligrams of the drug at that time, then left Jackson alone under the influence of the drug to make phone calls to his Houston office. When he returned, Jackson was not breathing. He performed CPR while a member of Jackson’s staff called 911. The singer was rushed to UCLA Medical Center where he was declared dead sometime later.

The affidavit says, while Murray acknowledged to police that he administered propofol, authorities find no evidence that he had purchased, ordered or obtained the medication under his medical license or Drug Enforcement Administration tracking number. Police detectives found about eight bottles of the anesthetic in Jackson’s house along with other vials and pills that had been prescribed to Jackson by Dr. Murray, Dr. Arnold Klein and Dr. Allan Metzger.

Valium, lorazepam, clonazepam, tamsulosin and other drugs also were confiscated in the search, and propofol was found in Murray’s medical bag. According to the warrant, Murray told police he was not the first doctor to administer propofol to the singer.

Authorities subpoenaed medical records from Klein, Metzger and Dr. David Adams, in addition to Murray, the affidavit states. They also asked for medical records from Dr. David Slavitt, who conducted the independent medical examination of Jackson for Anschuntz Entertainment Group, Dr. Randy Rosen and nurse practitioner Cherilyn Lee.

The affidavit also states that Jackson told Murray that two doctors in Germany had given him propofol. Murray said he repeatedly asked Jackson what other physicians were treating him and what drugs they were prescribing. Murray said Jackson refused to give the information.
